Welcome to the website of Great Waltham C of E VC Primary School. On this site you will find all the information you need, whether you already have a child at the school or are looking for somewhere for your child to start their education.

At Great Waltham School our dedicated team of teachers, support staff and governors aim to provide a safe and secure learning environment, where high expectations of achievement, behaviour and support for each other are paramount.

Our Christian faith and ethos guides all we do throughout the school.

We cherish strong, open relationships with parents of our pupils. Confidence in your child’s education grows out of the knowledge and understanding of what happens inside school. We therefore welcome and value the involvement of parents and carers in the life and work of our happy village school, offering many opportunities for you to take part in your child’s education.

School lunches

We are proud of our freshly cooked, healthy lunches and make sure that they are great value too. We have managed to avoid increasing the cost of a lunch but the reality is that the school budget can no longer absorb the increases in the ingredients and other costs involved and we have therefore reluctantly have from the 1st May 2017 increased the price of a lunch to £2.20. We believe, and hope that you do to, that this still represents excellent value for a home cooked meal prepared on the premises with fresh ingredients.

If you have any concerns about the price increase, or would like to find out if you eligible for free school meals, please contact the school office.

Some of the delicious cakes sold on Friday helped to raise £400 for Macmillan. Thanks to all who donated, supported and volunteered their time.
