Starting a new school is a huge step for any child, whether it is their first time, or they are moving from another school. Great Waltham School prides itself on the supportive and caring attitude that both staff and pupils have towards each other and this helps new children settle quickly into school life. We aim to ensure that starting with us is as stress free as possible, for both children and their carers.

Our admissions process is handled directly by Essex County Council Planning & Admissions (telephone 0845 6032200).  Full details of our admissions criteria can be found in the directory by clicking here.  We welcome visits at any time, simply telephone the school office for an appointment.

If your child is already of school age and you are moving from outside the area you will need to complete a “mid year” application form and submit this to Essex County Council Planning & Admissions year – this can be found here.

Once you have been offered a place at Great Waltham School, we will contact you during the term prior to your child starting with us to arrange a series of induction days, and meetings for parents and carers.
